This policy describes what happens to your data if you decide you use Go Places.

Information we collect

When you use the Go Places app for the first time you can choose to “Sign-In with Apple” or “Continue without signing in”. If you choose the latter option the Go Places app collects no information about you. It doesn’t know who you are and it doesn’t remember where you are or where you have been.

If you choose to “Sign-In with Apple” you still have some choices about what data you share with Go Places. By default Apple will provide Go Places with a unique user identifier, your name and your Email Address. Apple provides you with the option to hide your name and your email address if you don’t want to provide this information. Go Places never has access to your Apple password.

If you use Go Places to store places you have visited, the app will associate your user identifier with the place(s) you visit and the date of the visit. You can delete this information at any time.

Contacting you

Go Places does not currently send notifications, automated emails or any kind of marketing emails. We may contact you in response to email communications that you initiate.

Data storage

Any data that Go Places collects (as described above) is stored in Apple’s iCloud service.

Advertising and third parties

Go Places does not include any adverts or third party tracking or analytics.

Information usage

Any information collected by Go Places is used only to operate the app and provide user support. We do not share any information with outside parties.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.

In the future, we may sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets.

Accessing, changing, or deleting information

You may delete your account with Go Places, or any visits you have stored at any time from within the app.

Deleted information may be kept in backups for up to 90 days. Backups are encrypted and are only accessed if needed for disaster recovery.

Go Places may delete your information at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to technical needs, legal concerns, abuse prevention, removal of idle accounts, unplanned data loss.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of the Go Places app is structured to attract anyone under 13.

Information for European Union Customers

By using Go Places and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

International Transfers of Information

Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used.
